Bringing nearly 20 years of athletic communications experience to Princess Anne, including recent MEAC exposure at Norfolk State, Wehner will play a "crucial role" says UMES Associate AD Nick Novy. His multifaceted communications background encompasses areas from marketing and promotions to coordinating gameday operations and livestreams.

Wehner's creative talents for graphic design and video production will further strengthen UMES athletics external media presence. He also boasts sport-specific experience as a primary contact for various programs including women's volleyball, men's basketball, softball and more over his career.

"Having spent time in the MEAC, I am ready to dive right into conference play and into the spring," said Wehner, eager to showcase the UMES student-athlete experience.

With the Hawks athletics program building motivated momentum, Wehner brings the skill set to maximize communications strategy and engagement - ultimately aiming to elevate the UMES brand to new competitive heights.
